BUSINESS DIRECTOR

Ten Toes is looking for an ambitious, creative and well-organised professional to work as part of the US team servicing some of the biggest brands in the world and being the gatekeeper of our agency brand in this new market.

A Business Director (BD) plays a crucial role in our agency, acting as the linchpin between the client and the agency's internal teams.

  • 1. Business Development and Growth:

    • As we will be new in the market and servicing existing work, you’ll ideally need to identify and pursue new business opportunities for the agency.

    • Participating in pitches and presentations to potential clients.

    • Building and maintaining a strong network of industry contacts.

    • Contributing to the overall growth and success of the agency.


    2. Client Relationship Management:

    • Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, understanding their needs and goals.

    • Serving as the primary point of contact for clients, addressing their concerns and ensuring their satisfaction.

    • Proactively identifying opportunities for growth and expansion within existing client accounts.

    • Input into contracts.

    3. Strategic Planning and Execution

    • Developing and executing comprehensive marketing and advertising strategies aligned with clients' objectives.

    • Collaborating with creative teams to ensure the development of effective and impactful campaigns.

    • Managing project timelines, budgets and resources to ensure timely and efficient delivery.

    • Analysing campaign performance and providing insights to clients for continuous improvement.

    • 5+ years of experience working on sports marketing services for a brand, rights-holder or similar 

    • Exceptional working knowledge and understanding of social platforms (Facebook, X, TikTok, Instagram and YouTube)


    • Solid understanding of the wider sports marketing landscape

    • Confidence managing multiple projects at the same time

    • Confidence (and desire) to develop strong client relationships

    • Experience working on social and/or branded content shoots

    • Experience managing relationships with multiple stakeholders

    • A passion and deep understanding of soccer

    • A passion for sport in general across multiple categories

    • Demonstrate acute attention to detail


    • Ability to manage multiple complex projects and do so under pressure

    • Demonstrate strategic and creative rigour

    • Tenacious nature with a desire to make projects happen

    • Ability to communicate in a concise and professional manner whether in a verbal, written or visual context

    • Ability to negotiate and demonstrate flexibility on the job

    • Strong organisational and time management skills and ability to work to tight deadlines

    • Comfortable with team-based work structure and able to work independently and proactively

    Our output ranges from year-round channel management to an award-winning BBC documentary, an engaging sponsorship activation to a social-first content series.

    We are also having a notable impact on the leagues, clubs and federations we work with, deepening their connections with fans through strategic guidance and development, actionable recommendations, data-driven insight and best-in-class creativity. 

    Boasting FIFA as a founding client, we have since provided support to some of the biggest names in sport, such as England Rugby, Arsenal, Chelsea, the WPLL, the PGMOL, Leicester City and The FA. 

    Building Our Network

    While Ten Toes' original home was in the UK and this remains our HQ of 7+ years, business success along with the global nature of the team's skill sets has enabled us to scale our agency around the world.

    Responding to client needs in the region, we have set up hubs in both Copenhagen and Delhi. Seeing the huge growth opportunity that exists for sport in the Middle East, we further set up a Dubai office in 2024.

    Not stopping there, we have most recently moved into the US market and are already underway with three exciting clients who share an ambition to redefine the soccer landscape.

THE ROLE:

The Business Director should be a versatile and dynamic leader who plays a pivotal role in the success of both the agency and its clients.

Their ability to balance strategic thinking, client relationship management, team leadership and business development is essential for thriving in this demanding yet rewarding role.

They will report directly into (at least initially) the Global CEO.
