BRUNO FERNANDES & VICTOR LINDELOF RAISE ALMOST £50,000 FOR UNICEF’s UKRAINE APPEAL
The Manchester United footballers joined together to launch a fundraiser which will support UNICEF’s work in providing access to clean water, health care services and other critical support to millions of children and their families in Ukraine.
The campaign was made up of lots of different prize draws open to the general public and prizes ranged from a private tour of Manchester United’s training ground through to signed items from the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, David De Gea, Bernardo Silva and more.
The duo raised almost £50,000 for the charity’s response to the crisis in Ukraine and have also made considerable personal donation in addition to the total raised from the prize draws.
"Victor and I spoke at the training ground about the situation with Ukraine and were talking about ways in which we might be able to do something that could help. After we talked with UNICEF, we realised the most impactful thing we could do at this moment would be to raise what we can for their appeal in Ukraine." said Bruno Fernandes.
Speaking about the fundraiser, Victor Lindelof said: “It is amazing how the whole family within football can come together for a cause like this and be generous with how they can help. UNICEF have told us that there are 2,225,000 children in need of humanitarian assistance and Bruno and I have come together wanting to do what we can to help with that situation”.
