The social data behind euro 2022

After an amazing month of football, we took a look at the social data behind Euro 2022 to really understand the growth and fan engagement the tournament has driven.

In the last 36 hours there have been over 810,000 mentions of ‘Lionesses’ on Twitter. As well as conversation, there’s been huge follower growth, with the Lionesses squad’s collective Instagram following jumping up by 1.3 million over the course of the competition.

It’s been a game-changing few weeks and we are incredibly proud of the work we’ve done during this tournament and over the past few years with the likes of Pernille Harder, Magdalena Eriksson, Fridolina Rolfo and Melanie Leupolz. We’re looking forward to another big season in the women’s game where we’ll be building on our work with one of the Lionesses joining our client base very soon.
